Functional movements are movements we do every day in life such as pushing, pulling, squatting, jumping and running. We do these things when we sit up from a chair, put something up on the shelf or pick something up off the ground.
The workouts by design are scalable for all ages, abilities, and level of fitness by varying the load (weight) and intensity (time) of any workout. By constantly varying your workouts, you never get into the same routine and your workouts have a greater variety to help train your General Physical Preparedness (GPP).
CrossFit help trains the ten fitness domains of endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy. The WOD (workout of the day) is done in a group environment and are performed at the highest intensity the individual can sustain with good form and proper technique.
